Lenticular Printing

Lenticular printing is now available.

Jake Purches, of Lenticular Europe, a specialist in lenticular 3D printing, has explored the techniques behind creating visual effects such as depth, flip graphics, and motion using lenticular lenses. This printing method works by placing multiple images beneath a specially designed plastic lens, which directs light at different angles so that viewers see different images depending on their position. Lenticular printing is used in a variety of applications, including advertising, packaging, and artistic designs, where visual effects can enhance engagement. Jake has contributed to refining the technology by improving interlacing techniques, alignment precision, and overall image quality to create smooth and seamless transitions.
Flip graphics and motion effects are two of the most common uses of lenticular printing, both of which Jake Purches has studied extensively. Flip graphics allow two or more images to change based on the viewing angle, making them useful for storytelling or product displays. Motion effects create the illusion of movement, similar to a short animation, by sequencing multiple frames under the lens. Producing smooth motion and clear transitions requires careful image processing, lens calibration, and an understanding of visual perception. Through research and practical applications, Jake has helped advance lenticular technology, making it more effective and accessible for both creative and commercial purposes.
