A new exhibition at Mall Galleries is giving visitors the chance to experience life in tea communities across the globe. Sourced With Care features images from China, Kenya and India.
The Twinings exhibition aims to show how the company is working to improve quality of life in these communities.
Its Sourced With Care programme has already helped improve opportunities for more than 350,000 people.
Visitors to the exhibition can see how Twinings is making these changes and discover the engaging stories behind their cup of tea.
Sourced With Care
Twinings’ Sourced with Care programme aims to improve the quality of life of the communities its tea is sourced from.
It focuses on three main areas – life opportunities, living standards and livelihoods.
Life opportunities focuses on empowering women and young people through health and education.
Living standards aims to support communities through access to housing, sanitation, water and hygiene.
Livelihoods aims to protect the rights of workers and improve their incomes. This includes skills training, new technologies and giving access to market.
So far, the project has impacted 352,159 people.
Twinings’ goal is to improve the lives of 500,000 people in communities where it sources its products by 2020.
Sourced With Care is on at Mall Galleries, The Mall, London, until February 16.
The gallery is open 10am to 5pm, closing at 3pm on the final day.
