The collective is looking for artists exploring the endless possibilities of the photographic medium through experimental and boundary pushing approaches to making and thinking.
Selected artists will have the opportunity to have their work in print.
The zine will celebrate the work of artists around the world that are increasingly unpicking the vastness and fluidity of the medium, using its all encompassing nature to break boundaries between mediums and question the capabilities of photography.
The open call is free to enter. Selected artists will be asked for a suggested donation of £10 towards production of the zine.
All selected artists will receive a free copy.
Funds raised from zine sales will go directly into the running of the collective and its future projects.
Submission guidelines
To enter the open call, please follow these guidelines:
- 1-8 images per submission
- Artist statement (max 150 words)
- Website and social media links
- Collate images and text onto one pdf (max. 5MB), titled ‘NameSurname.pdf’
- Send to tiedtolight@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Zine Submission’
The deadline for entries is March 15.
Tied to Light
Tied to Light is a collective formed in 2020 by recent BA (Hons) Photography graduates Anna Luk and Lucy Kane.
Its purpose is to support emerging artists exploring the expansion of photography through features, open calls and shared resources.
The platform aims to connect fellow creatives whose practices push and unpick the boundaries of the photographic through experimental approaches to making.
