A new exhibition celebrates the achievements of Brent’s female football stars – both on and off the pitch.

A new photographic exhibition, Women of the Match, celebrates the achievements of Brent’s female football stars.

The exhibition features portraits by Roy Mehta.

His images capture sporting stars such as Manisha Tailor– assistant head of coaching at Queens Park Rangers – and professional footballer Eartha Pond.

The portraits will become a permanent part of Brent Museum and Archives collections.

Memorabilia, including football kit and trophies from participants and the local football community, is also on display.

The road to the UEFA Women’s Euro Final

Mehta’s exhibition is part of a packed programme of free arts and heritage events celebrating the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 coming to Brent this summer.

With Wembley set to host the final game of the competition, Brent is part of a unique national art project that will run alongside the entire tournament. Other events include:

  • One two, one two: Inspirational Stories from Brent’s Women of Football
  • Outdoor Exhibition – the History of Women’s Football
  • Brent Anthem – Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Play Along
  • Stadium for the Future: (If I can’t dance I don’t want to be part of your revolution)

Women of the Match

Mehta’s Women of the Match exhibition is on at Brent Civic Centre until November 6.

The exhibition is open during normal opening hours.
